The Serendip Sanctuary & You Yangs State Park Education, Exploration & Adrenalin begins with a proud showcase of an ‘in- parks’ schools facility and a chance to meet the little ones this program has benefitted. Find your own inner child as you are guided through native animal enclosures. See the magnificent open planes of Greater Melbourne and keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of the Wild Eastern Kangaroos, Emus, Cape Geese as you drive between venues. Don’t forget to look up, you may see a Koala. Now things could get adventurous, as you will have the opportunity to Mountain Bike along an easy graded single track. Experience the trail network and discuss management challenges. If you feel like a meander through the bush, you can do that too. Bush walk to Big Rock where the group will gather and discuss local indigenous and European history as well as general park management issues. This day is jam packed with variety and you will be treated to some interesting stories from local experts. You may also have the opportunity to hear from participants from a nearby Correctional Facility and the benefits of ‘working’ at the parks in their preparation for release and integration back into society outside the institution.
