This Tour will provide you with an overview of one of the Black Saturday fire sites at Kinglake National Park, 70 km NE of Melbourne.

Context will be provided by local Rangers before you take a walk to the viewing platforms for Masons Falls.

You will be accompanied by Parks Victoria staff from Kinglake National Park and Friends of Kinglake National Park, and will be able to participate in discussion of their unique experiences.

Along the way, you will be examining and discussing the process of bushland regeneration and post-fire recovery.

You will be transported to another lookout to discuss the movement of fire and impacts as demonstrated across the landscape.  Amongst the many buildings lost during the fire, the Kinglake Park Management office was one of them.

Discuss how the process for rebuilding this office has become a positive planning story.

This sensitive issue will be shared with you from people directly affected by the fire and involved in the recovery.
