The Congress Opening Ceremony & Welcome Reception was a great success, with over five hundred of the 1000 registered delegates attending on Sunday 11 April.
We were proud to have the Premier, Mr John Brumby, officially open the event. In addition to John Brumby, we heard from :
• Peter Garrett, AM, MP. Federal Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts.
• Sir Gus Nossal, AC - Congress Patron
• John Francis, The Planetwalker
After the opening, delegates & speakers enjoyed the chance to get to know each other at the Welcome Reception. Catering was impressive, with various "Streets of Melbourne" stands dispensing the variety of food Melbourne is known for.
