Photos & Post Congress Update

We are in the midst of finalising the Congress proceedings. We expect this will be ready mid-June.

We've also contact delegates for review and/or approval of the Melbourne Communiqué, with the final version due to be released late May/early June. The Melbourne Communiqué  will be an important outcome of the Congress. Your
endorsement will represent an adoption of the Healthy Parks Healthy People
(HPHP) philosophy and help forge greater global understanding and strengthening
of the connection between nature and people.

We have uploaded a selection of the many photos taken Congress online. If you

"Healthy Parks Healthy People is more than a conference; it's an exciting new movement in natural resource management that's demonstrating the very real benefits to human well being created by the conservation of biodiversity and wild places"  Alasdair Harris, 2010 World Conservation Union's Young Conservationist Award

Experiential tours

The 14 Experiential Tours were designed to create meaning through direct experience, providing delegates with the chance to be drawn into local nature, culture and history.

As a break during the busy sessions of the Congress these days also gave an opportunity for personal growth and time to reflect on the values and interests that are experienced on an individual level.

These experiences were designed in particular to demonstrate how Healthy Parks Healthy People is being implemented in Victoria.

Some of the programs that were included in the tours were designed specifically to make direct connections between the health of parks and people while others were based around the philosophy of improved health through contact with nature.
