Then proceed to William Ricketts Sanctuary to discover stories and experience the atmosphere of this remarkable artistic landscape. You will be immersed in the awesome Cathedral-like Mountain Ash Forest and gallery of sculptural artwork. It is here you will feel a sense of awakening to the interconnectedness of man & environment. Take a short walk through the majestic Mt Ash Forest to discover the sights and delights of the giants of Sherbrooke, the world’s tallest flowering plant. During the day you will also walk the The Kokoda Walk which is a steep track walk consisting of 1,000 steps. Along the way are plaques depicting the lives of those who fought and died on the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea in World War II. The physical effort required to complete the climb gives walkers a sense of the exhaustion experienced by the Australian soldiers following the trail during the Kokoda campaign in 1942.
